Christmas – A Celebration commemorating the Birth of CHRIST.
The 1st Christmas was the day when God became flesh and dwelt physically amongst men
– God proclaimed His goodwill towards men.
“Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and
they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated,
“God with us.” Matthew 1:23
The Gift of eternal life as encapsulated in John 3:16 – For
God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son, that whoever
believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.
Christmas is one of the most looked forward to (celebrations and rest
days!) and exciting times of the year. The heart and mind gets brimmed
over with joyfulness with the thoughts of Christmas. There’s
the gathering among relatives and friends not forgetting the traditions
among which's the giving of presents.
It is indeed fun to give and receive gifts, provided that it does not
put a strain on the budget for the giver. Many a times, it is not so
much of the cost of the gifts but the thoughts behind it that make the
most impact.
Revisiting and reflecting through some contemplative quotes on gifts:
*Every gift from a friend is a wish for your happiness - Richard Bach
*You can give without loving, but you can never love without giving -
Author Unknown
*May no gift be too small to give, nor too simple to receive, which is
wrapped in thoughtfulness, and tied with love - L.O. Baird
*Gift exchanges make love last longer - Swedish Proverb
*The heart of the giver makes the gift dear and precious –
Martin Luther

Question: What are some things i should put in a gift basket for newlyweds/wedding gift? young couple, fun gift?

Two of my good friends are getting married next month and I love the idea of putting together a little gift basket with "newlywed essentials ". We're all in our 20's so I want it to be a fun and happy gift (not so much sentimental and practical...I'm not looking to give them toothpaste and lightbulbs). I'm thinking like Tylenol, condoms, duct tape...the silly things. They aren't a shy couple, so nothing will offend them, and they aren't having a formal reception so there's no worries of their family getting offended or upset by something that could be given. Positive, helpful suggestions would be SO appreciated! Thank ya all!! :) Fabulous answers so far!! Keep them coming!

Invest in your love and to be happy. When you make a commitment to a relationship, you invest your attention and energy in it more profoundly because you now experience ownership of that relationship.

You could add KY Your's and Mine or the KY Intense Kama Sutra book and massage oils

Menus for local delivery + gift card (maybe pizza hut or papa johns), the book "Women are from Venus, Men are from Mars " (or something like that), ear plugs, foot lotion, listerine, Pamprin (no PMS for the first month of marriage!). Edible body paint and a candle? The number for a florist for the first time he screws up? Directions to the nearest bar so she knows where to go looking for him on Friday happy hours? You could do a separate one for him and for her. You'd put the ear plugs in his, a "to do " or "honey do " list pad in hers, foot lotion in his (for HER feet!), the menu for delivery that she could pass of as her own cooking in hers, a tiny bottle of liquor in both, etc. I also really like to make a breakfast in bed kit for newly weds (pancake/ waffle mix, syrup, jam, muffin mix, a tiny whisk, mimosa mixer and a bottle of champagne or some combination of those all on a tray for eating in bed, tied up in Tulle) or a "night in " basket with a jar with tri-color rotini, a jar of good marinara or alfredo, a jar of Parmesean cheese, a bottle of wine, and a $5 gift card for Blockbuster.
