Christmas – A Celebration commemorating the Birth of CHRIST.
The 1st Christmas was the day when God became flesh and dwelt physically amongst men
– God proclaimed His goodwill towards men.
“Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and
they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated,
“God with us.” Matthew 1:23
The Gift of eternal life as encapsulated in John 3:16 – For
God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son, that whoever
believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.
Christmas is one of the most looked forward to (celebrations and rest
days!) and exciting times of the year. The heart and mind gets brimmed
over with joyfulness with the thoughts of Christmas. There’s
the gathering among relatives and friends not forgetting the traditions
among which's the giving of presents.
It is indeed fun to give and receive gifts, provided that it does not
put a strain on the budget for the giver. Many a times, it is not so
much of the cost of the gifts but the thoughts behind it that make the
most impact.
Revisiting and reflecting through some contemplative quotes on gifts:
*Every gift from a friend is a wish for your happiness - Richard Bach
*You can give without loving, but you can never love without giving -
Author Unknown
*May no gift be too small to give, nor too simple to receive, which is
wrapped in thoughtfulness, and tied with love - L.O. Baird
*Gift exchanges make love last longer - Swedish Proverb
*The heart of the giver makes the gift dear and precious –
Martin Luther

I love it when hotels and restaurants use Christmas lights to create a romantic mood! Our wedding venue had some too, and it was really a gorgeous room. What you want to avoid is stringing the lights in straight lines along edges of tables, etc. That will remind everyone of a house decorated for Christmas. You want to have them clustered in plants, trees, etc. so they are in a random formation. Then it wont look tacky at all, itll be beautiful!

I think that it could look really nice. It's a good idea.

Tacky and cheap - maybe like your relationship.

I think it would be beautiful! Did you see the episode of Friends where Ross was marrying Emily in a crumbling church? They had tiny white lights everywhere and it was very pretty.

Great minds think alike! I was thinking the same thing! I agree with the person who said coloured lights are tacky but white lights are romantic!

It could look beautiful in the dark but not by themselves. Go to a fabric store or party store and look for some type of garland to wrap the string part of the lights with so only the bulbs stick out.

Not, all white lights will make it like a fairy tale wedding! Good luck.

It will look tacky with the green wires exposed. Try to get the ones with the white wires and try some paper-thin silk fabric over them. It would be so elegant!

I think that it would look pretty as long as you don't over-do it. Buy the white lights on the white cord and some tulle or garland to hide as much of the cord as you can.

It will look GORGEOUS. We had them all over at our wedding.

Christmas lights were the MAIN source of lighting for my weddind and reception. The look really beautiful wrapped in tulle. I had a black and white with sliver and red as accents. The christmas lights were wrapped in white tulle. It was so pretty. I also had the ones that hung down on the celling to add more lighting to the place. I didn't want to use the flourecent lights that were there.

It sounds nice! Right now Ikea has some beautiful LED lights with little flowers that you might like.. and they're pretty inexpensive.

Fairy lights are absolutely lovely - the more the better! It really gives a special feel to any room.

We used fairy lights at our reception and they worked so well! They weren't everywhere (mostly the dance floor) but a little or a lot would be beautiful either way. I don't have any great photos of our fairy lights on the net, but you can hopefully see from these pictures what a nice background the fairy lights make... flickr.com/ photos/ 25906286@N04/ 2433388508/ flickr.com/ photos/ 25906286@N04/ 2432579037/ flickr.com/ photos/ 25906286@N04/ 2433394774/
