When I lived at home it was the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Now all the family that buys real trees do it then. I have a fake one. I don't like it but I will have fake till my house is done being remodeled.

Lol I'd love to put my Christmas decorations up now too. We wait til after Thanksgiving Day. If my husband has to travel the week after Thanksgiving then we'll wait til the following weekend when he's home.

I think it is a great time to put up decorations. You don't need to turn on the lights for a few weeks if you don't want to! Spreading a little Christmas cheer might be just what the doctor ordered given the current status of the economy etc.

I'd put your stuff up now. I put half my stuff up.. well, everything besides lights and my x-mas tree. For the Christmas tree I would wait Maybe 3 weeks before x-mas starts so it still looks new and it will stay around for New years!

The first convenient opportunity after Thanksgiving. I learned quickly I can't put a real tree up until 3 weeks before Xmas because my house is too warm and the poor thing dries out too quick. Now I have a fake tree and love it because I can decorate the tree the same time I put up everything else. I like being in the spirit as long as possible but doing it before Thanksgiving just doesn't seem right.

I want to put the tree up now but it's only because I honestly hate putting it up and taking it down. I love Christmas but I hate the damn tree. But since it's a family tradition I have to wait until the day after thanksgiving. I might put up some decoration Thanksgiving day since I'm not doing anything.

I always start putting them up Thanksgiving night.. My mom when I was growing up put a tree up like 10 days before Christmas. I think it had something to do with my dad being a scrooge.. hum bug So once i moved out, it came up Thanksgiving night.. granted I was ready to take it down Christmas night instead of New Years.. but I always left it up till new years.

The other day I past a house that had trees, lights and everything up and it is only mid November! Mine does not go up until at least a week until christmas day because in my opinion i find that it just gets in the way, but it is your home so it is up-to you!
